GooPhone X1 set to be world’s cheapest quad-core phone at less than $100

Chinese phone/clone maker Goophone are best known for their knock-off iPhone and Samsung products, but they also make some low-cost phones of their own design such as the super affordable Goophone X1.

The GooPhone X1 will be sold at 499 Yuan here in China ($81) making in the world’s most affordable quad-corephone. The X1 will come equipped with a 4.7-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, 1.3 mega-pixel front and 2 mega-pixel rear cameras, 1.2Ghz quad-core MT6589 processor, 512mb RAM, dual SIM support, 1800mAh battery and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

The 499 Yuan price tag is part of a deal with local phone providers, customers wanting to buy it off contract will have to pay the slightly higher price of 593 Yuan ($97). No word on an international release, but we imagine the GooPhone X1 will be available through certain online resellers.

  Not everybody seek high specs phone…Even if I wouldn’t by it for myself, this is more than enough for my kids

Nice look 🙂 but cheap specifications… you’ve got what you’ve paid for, anyway…
Do they plan to release a WCDMA 900-2100MHz version? because it’s only TDCDMA afaik…

You don’t know what you’re talking about, I had the first Galaxy S and the 512mb of ram was enough for daily use!! People that buy this phone will never be worried if the ram is enough, because it will be enough for their daily use…
And with the mtk6589 on a phone like that would be blazing fast lol

looks good, but its has only 512Mb of Ram and 4.7″ 854 x 480 its lame, why nt 4.3″ screen? But you know for this price its worth it. it could be a nice phone for kids or something..

I really like the design, nice and sleek. It’s about $110 at international shopping sites. But then again, put $50 on top, and you’ll get 1 GB and HD display.
