Xiaomi are reported to be launching a youth version of the Xiaomi Mi2s which will launch on 5th July!
According to an article on DoNews, Beijing based Xiaomi are ready a new Youth version of the popular Xiaomi Mi2s priced at just 1699 Yuan ($277). The news comes after the announcement of a new Xiaomi mini film named 1699 which sparked rumours of a Xiaomi price drop.

However, this new report claims that a price drop won’t take place and that the Xiaomi Mi2s Youth will be an all new model which will have a slightly slower 1.5Ghz Snapdragon 600 processor, just 1GB RAM and only available with 16GB of memory and 8 mega-pixel camera.
If this report is true then Xiaomi will have 4 phones to choose from by the end of this month and possible 6 by the end of August!

1) If you are not already used to a 1080 display then you likely won’t notice the difference. If you have a 1080 now you won’t want to go back.
2) Not sure on the pricing but it won’t be too high, the X7 is a great phone too. Zopo as well but the bendy body worries me.

@Andy, guess you mean that the zopo c2 is too bendy? Does that also hold for the c2 platinum/16gb black versions. What about the zopo c3? Heard that the c3 isn’t bendy and thus seems to have a better inner body.

The Mi2s Youth will be smaller, have a quad-core chip but prob no NFC or 5ghz WIFI.
Hi Andy…I’m a big fan of your website. I am looking to buy a good quality dual sim android device and wondering if its safer to get something from Blu USA than one of the china mobiles you speak of. The china mobiles seem cheaper and i dont wanna spend more than 270 dollars. Any suggestions for a reliable buy? Quality is important to me. Its critical that this device supports 850mhz 3G. Thanks

The Blu a Chinese OEM phone, taking a look at one of those should give you a rough idea of how well made current Chinese phone are.There are lots of options, but the 850mhz band makes it a difficult one. Perhaps you can ask in the forums to see what others are using?

Xiaomi is getting ridiculous. Adding one or two features and making a new Device. What will be the future, I heard something like:
Mi2a Youth = the same as Mi2a, but without NFC
Mi2a Elite = the same as Mi2a, but with 2GB Ram and 32GB Rom
Mi2s Pro = all the same as Mi2s, but 4,7 inch
Mi2s Ultimate = all the same as Mi2s, but with 64GB Rom
Mi2s Titan = allt he Same as Mi2s, but this time with 1,9 GhZ getting 100 Points more in Antutut
and of course Mi2aa getting even more features besides NFC, HD Sound, gesture control, water proof, shock proof, 20 megapixel camera, but only 8GB Rom and 512MB Ram.
