The G Five Kivu is an 8-core, Mediatek MT6592 Oppo Find 5 look-a-like

G Five are better known for their range of Android tablets, but they are gearing up to give the phone market a crack with the G Five Kivu, 8-core handset!

The news of Mediatek’s 8-core MT6592 chipset launch is so fresh that the ink hasn’t dried on our webpages (that’s how the internet works right?), and already we are seeing leaked renders and specifications from Chinese phone makers preparing to make use of the new octa-core SoC.

Gizchina News of the week

Above we have the first (of many to come) leaked renders of a purported 8-core Mediatek handset. Manufactured by G Five and named the Kivu, this next generation Chinese phone will boast a 6-inch+ 1080 display, 2GB RAM and that MT6592 processor.

Design wise the G Five Kivu is very similar to the current Oppo Find 5. How genuine the render is debatable, but we could be looking at the world’s first Chinese 8 core phone!

Mediatek are scheduled to ship small quantities of 8 core MT6592 processors to manufacturers by the end of this month. We expect the first 8 core Mediatek phones to launch before December.

You dont need a 50000000000000000 core mobile to launch a satellite …..instead you should have a rocket and satellite….!

Wow gotta love these chinese guys!
They are really true to themselves on the vaporware releases.

🙂 as soon as they get a sense on new tech they release a render and a rumour on whats to come.
The funny thing is you can’t blame them cause they know they can easily build it and they dont overcomplicate the decision making process like western companies.

And since This maker makes primarily tablets I hope they release a 10″ retina, 8 core MTK tablet with 3G… Finally…

Im hoping this one gets LTE.
As far as the eight cores go – i think it’s just on the right track for chinese phones. Chinese phones usually have the last year’s antutu scores with ~ 10-15% increase or decrease. This year it’s going to be the same but I dont really think performance matters all that much anymore. Either way. Will probably be getting this or the iOcean x8 if it turns out to have the same chipset.

Can’t wait to see what they come up with using this octacore, hope Mediatek put more than a single core in the GPU though

Well, whatever this picture actually shows, it most certainly isn’t yet another one of those dreadfully distorted 16:9 aspect ratio 1080p panels, which is very good.
It seems to be closer to a 1.46-something one, therefore being almost smack in the middle of the much preferred 4:3 (=1.33) through 16:10(=1.6) geometry range.

    8 cores?
    30k++ antutu?
    ¼ price?
    Hail, hail, hail chinaphone…

I expect around 23k Antutu for this chip. Not more.
I say that I hope they went for more power efficiency since we need better autonomy and cca 8mm phones.
30k + would be a desktop replacement territory! Hahaha. Not something 99% need.

Can’t wait to see other options this chips includes.
Dual sim and all the current features are a given I suppose.

Mediatek Octa core will be landmark for Chinese Mobile manufacturer,
A good built quality phone will compete neck to neck with other main stream device and it will force premium brands to produce better spec & priced mid range devices.

Win win for consumers & definitely i will be pre ordering one of those Octa Core device!
