GooPhone have locked on to the Samsung Galaxy Mega and are targeting the latest phablet with their very own 1080p GooPhone S4 Mega!
The GooPhone S4 Mega joins the likes of the OreintPhone Mega 6.5, as a next generation Chinese phablet. I say next generation as these new device don’t have the flaky resolution of previous models and offer cutting edge chipsets!
Gizchina News of the week
Measuring in at 6.45-inch the GooPhone S4 Mega is slightly smaller than similar phones, but it offers the same 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution, 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T processor and 13 mega-pixel rear camera! There are some differences though most notably the GooPhone phablet has 2GB RAM and 32GB memory!

Andi, I am torn in choosing this GooPhone S4 Mega and the OrientPhone 6.5. Which do u think is well built, better screen display, good viewing angle?
Are these phone as heavy compared to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 or much heavier? Because inasmuch as I like the bigger screen, I don’t want a very heavy phone.
It depends I suppose. The 2GB RAM could give you peace of mind and ‘future proof’ the phone, I’ll have to take a look at the weights
Nice specs.. Is there any phablet (bigger than 5 inch) with gorilla or asahi glass? Considering the big screen i’d think protective glass is even more important.
nice post sir..
Hi Andi, thanks for your reply. Based on your feedback, GooPhone S4 seems to be a better choice since OrientPhone Mega offers only 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM which is twice for GooPhone S4. I hope it is not heavier compared to Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
By the way, I am about two hours by bus ride to SZ Huaqiangbe. I always come out at Exit A in Huaqiangbe MTR station and passing infront of the SEG building. I wonder where can I have the actual hands-on of these phones in Huaqiangbe?
It is in this location where I have seen and actually do simple hands-on of original Zopo C2, ThL W8, Huawei Ascend P6, Huawei Ascend Mate, all sorts of Samsung dual SIM cards phones, Vivo, CoolPad, Oppo phones, etc.
Unfortunately, I have never seen the Jiayu shop though since I cannot read the Chinese map. I just go roam around the area and discovered these phones unexpectedly! 🙂
You know Orientdeal are located around there. Perhaps they will let you test drive one?
Hi Andi, unfortunately, no. I haven’t seen too Orientdeal shop. Do you happen to have the map or address (with reference to the Shenzhen MTR exit stations)?
Maybe also an address in Beijing? 🙂
Great phone! Is it safe to remove any of the Chinese system apps?
Yes, it shouldn’t cause an issue
