Gionee ELife E6 Officially launched in China

Gionee have really changed our opinion of this once dull brand is rapidly changing! Just check out the newly launchedGionee Elife E6!

Our sister site GizIndia.com has posted news of the GioneeElife E6 launch which kicked off last evening at 7pm in Beijing. The Elife E6 joins the recently launched E5 with a narrow body and high-end specifications.

Gionee really have checked every box with the Elife E6, it offers a 5-inch 1080 display, 2GB RAM 1.5Ghz MT6589T Turbo chipset, 32GB memory, 5 mega-pixel wide angle front camera, 13 mega-pixel rear and a 200mAh battery from Samsung!

All of this is nicely wrapped up in a narrow 7.9mm body, which from the photos, looks rather well made!

Our only concern is the price of the phone. Gionee aren’t known to be very competitive on price when compared to smaller Chinese brands and the Elife E6 is no exception as it costs 2699 Yuan ($440) which is not much less than the Oppo Find 5 with similar hardware but Snapdragon processor!

andi, appreciate your work man, can u just create a post with Quad core phones by Battery’s life? cause sometimes u can find a 3100mAH battery and it last like a 2500mAH battery from another type or phone, if u know what I mean.. like with the jiayu G4 phones and their new batteries.. thanks 🙂

Fetish of most Chinese manufacturers for a thin (so called size zero in fashion world ) phones with miniscular batteries will reduce the number of clients willing to buy these fashion phones. Any sensible guy buying a smart phone will look at utility of the phone, and if used as a smart phone a 5inch FHD display phone will certainly be dying out before evening. Guys with 3000 mAh batteries will be using their phone with a open and free mind. THINK Gionee !

Guys, those phones don’t die before evening, unless you play games on them or you keep wifi enabled all day long.
I have a HDC S4 EX (1080P/MTK6589/ 2500mA) which last 1.5days, and I even suspect it to be defective since battery is incorrectly reported / drains anormally fast (screen off):
I go to work with it @ 100% around 9AM, when i’m coming back around 4PM, i’m usually @ 60%.
Phone is constantly using both sim cards, I work a lot with 3G (so screen is on very long) and I make about 10 calls everyday with a few texts.
And now I have a TCL Idol X on my way with a 2000mA, so unless it’s a 1600mA, 2000mA and more batteries are OK for working. Anyway, MTK6589 are too weak for recent games.

more than 400$ for a chinese phone with no warranty or service if you live outside china , you have to be made to buy something like that

  Well Gionee retails and provides warranty in india as well 🙂 but true, I dont see very many people buying this phone for that price, better phones are available for that kind of price.

Whatsoever be the case with those specs and 440$ tag (maybe more for international users)

people buy chinese phone not because of looks .. chinese phones are bought because of the hardware they are offering. if the phone is bad looking with great specs then it will sell more than good looking bad spec phone

Yeah, quite pricey. I don’t see this phone doing well in India at least; a market ruled by domestic manufacturers like Micromax. Given the price point, the phone would merely be a ‘footage grabber’. But the phone itself looks very good and sturdy.
