Stainless Steel JiaYu G5 will run 1.5Ghz MT6589T Chipset

As JiaYu G4 and G3S shipments finally settle in to a steady pace, the team at JiaYu are shifting their attention to the JiaYu G5.

The JiaYu G5 is the next JiaYu phone to ship from the Chinese phone maker, and the first phone from the brand which treads the fine line to possibly being seen as a knock off rather than an original product.

Yes, the JiaYu G5 looks a lot like the iPhone 5 and had it not been for the lack of physical home button, the inclusion of a 4.50inch display and the fact the JiaYu features a stainless steel removable rear panel they could have been looking at a law suit!

Anyway, it’s the hardware which we are most interested in in this post as JiaYu have officially announced the G5 will get a 1.5Ghz MT6589T processor rather than the 1.2Ghz model. In addition the G5 will get 2GB RAM and 32GB memory which is basically the same configuration as the G4 Advanced but tucked in to a thinner 7.9mm shell.

As you would expect from JiaYu there are no firm pricing details or a launch date just yet.

Since there is not much new tech. in G5 and the changes are more cosmetic in nature (maybe inviting the lawsuit with attractive promises) can we xpect the item soon ???

Will JiaYu lose some credibility by producing an Iphone clone? I’m not sure why somebody would want one when you could get a G4 instead.

I’m not sure what you meant by “and its and iphone itself, no matter that it run android”.

As for it looking better, thats subjective. Personally I prefer the look of the G4. Regardless of the good specs, its appearance is still that of an iphone knock off.

Every sentence where “Jiayu” is mentioned should inevitably contain the words “will” and “rumor” πŸ™‚
Unfortunately this happens to be true for most of the manufacturers. Lucky for me – I have the gift of patience and I don’t pause living my life while I wait for my new smartphone πŸ™‚

I have a zopo zp200, more than 1 year old but still working fine. Unfortunately it is very slow because of the 1GHz single core CPU. And I pre-ordered N003 months ago. Should have it in a month I hope πŸ™‚

I’m from Portugal, so I bought my Jiayu G4 Advanced from a Spanish store called Powerplanetonline.
