Executives at China’s iOcean have gone on the record about their next generationsmartphone which ‘will’ be powered by an 8-core Mediatek CPU.
Gizchina News of the week
The iOcean X7 was one of the first quad-core 1080 phones to launch this year and there is the possibility that its successor will be the world’s first true 8-core phone! Executives at iOcean have gone on the record and spoken about their companies upcoming phone which ‘will’ have an 8-core MT6592 SoC and a FHD display of more than 5-inches.
Other details are still vague but the above image is believed to be an early leaked photo and a launch date of early 2014 has been penned in! Keep posted for more details!
Whatever you are smoking must be really good, can I have some too, your in dreamland buddy and fly’n high as the sky!
Check the new Ubuntu dual boot phone. It has more features than u will demand. And surely r UUUU smoking something????
Why would you need 128gbs of rom??? unless you plan on watching blu ray porn that is xD
Point is as long as it has otg the rom need not be that huge…
I would if it was certain to succeed the campaign but it’s going to fail.
Actually, it does matter. The MTK chip has pretty good wifi and the GPS is easily fixable.
You are right I don’t need more cortes I need a working GPS
Fix the Gps: How?
iOcean X7 has a very bad GPS antenna I hope they improve it for this new device
I fixed it by putting aluminium foil where the antenas are and then putting on the back cover.
Either way, i’d rather get a RK32XX or MTK8135(yes it’s a tablet SOC) phone than an 8core a7.
The rockchip has quad-core Cortex A12 Cores, which are scalable down to A7 while being faster than Cortex A9.
The mediatek tablet SOC has a dual A15, dual A7 in BIG.little configuration, which means lots of power and lots of power savings.
The Octa A7 is kinda pointless IMO, nothing is multithreaded that well, especially on phones.
Let’s hope some phone maker hear this out, unfortunately most of them are probably going for the 8 core for the sole reason of it being easily marketable since 8 > 4 to average joes. 🙁
I’m starting to see MTK6592 unbranded phones for sale on alibaba and other websites. Does anyone thing they could be genuine? ?
You are in dream land buddy. To believe in the chinese crap is decieving yourself, unless they prove to the world their devices are not crap. They are yet to do it.So until then you live in your dream land and smoke it tight…
