Neo N003 now listed in some online stores!

Finally the Neo N003 has gone on (limited) release across China, and is now showing up on sale on some online resellers.

The Neo N003 is one of those phones which could have stolen the market away from other handsets such as the UMi X2, iOcean X7, FAEA F2 and others. Unfortunately Neo managed to launch the phone at the same time most companies are leaking details of their next gen 8-core phones!

Gizchina News of the week

Still it is great to see that Neo have finally launched the phone even if the current version is the 1GB RAM model with only 4GB ROM! Still it does have a 5-inch 1080 display, 1.5Ghz MT6589T processor, 13 megapixel camera and built in MHL and OTG support.

For those of you still interested in buying a Neo N003 basic it can be ordered online for $218.98 from Chinapadmall.

Will this work on 3G 850? The info in Chinapadmall is “3G: WCDMA 2100MHz”, but according to McBub it works on “3G: WCDMA 850/2100MHz”

according to the official specs on the official companies website, it doesnt support 850, only 2100

Please Andy, launch a special topic for Val, about 850 wdcma available phones, or he will pollute all the next topics …

Always funny to see how many people don’t take the time to read the technical specs 🙂 Perhaps have we here a market of some smartphone buying assistance services 😉

Actually, there has been examples of which the Official specs have been wrong – some models stating “850 or 900” support only turns out to be 2100. Or “2100” turning out to have 850 as well.

Considering the original states specs of the Neo from 3 months ago was to include 850, it would be nice to know if it is indeed supported. Its not because people CANNOT READ or look things up. It is confirmation.

You mean 4GB ROM right? Not 1 GB RAM with 4GB RAM!!

  3. August 12, 2013

According to chinapadmall, the Advanced version of the Neo N003 (With 32 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM) should be released around the 15th of August.

yes.. Hoping it will be 15th August. They had about half a dozen other dates previous to this as well that they never made the deadline..

I’ve seen it advertised for as low as $207 on Aliexpress – sold by reputable stores too (reasonable feedback and lots of sales).

I almost bought one yesterday but I’m wondering if I should wait until more hands on and review videos are posted online? Hmmm, decisions decisions.

Does it really have gorilla glass? Some sellers state it has and some don’t.

Had a look on the Neo forums (had to use google translate) and the phone seems to be pretty good. Camera looks really good. Antutu seems to be between 12,000-13,000. Screen definition is good, but OTG screen is not so good – quite dark at certain angles. Also touch screen can be a little insensitive. Some people have reported a gap between the metal bezel and the screen which isn’t good, hopefully just a one off manufacturing fault. GPS seems to be ok – but the rating got a wee bit lost in translation lol.

i think my money’s gone, gonna dispute over paypal tomorrow… wish me luck… 🙁

    which shop is reliable?

Received the Neo N003 Young a week ago.
Didn’t have time to look at it yet.
Shipped from Lightake in an DHL plastic bag.
    On first inspection 3 remarks
    – Back cover not closing snug. Have a gap on 1 side.
    – Frame has tiny hairlines on the corner. First I thought is was a crack.
But it’s so regular that it looks like a manufacturing error. Someone was to lazy to ‘clean’ the mold/template
    – Keyboard. Weird keyboard switching to numbers is fine
..switching back to letters is still a big mystery
