Chinese Android developers have released Android 4.3 which is ready to download and install on the Xiaomi Mi2 and Mi2S.
The stock Android 4.3 ROM was developed by Xiaomi developer @秋叶随风 and is available to download and install on both the Snapdragon S4 and Snapdragon 600 versions of the Mi2.
Gizchina News of the week
I was all up for installing the ROM on my personal phone until, however this not being an official update GPS isn’t currently supported, neither are OTA updates the FM radio and the ROM can’t show network speed in the status bar, however it does offer support for OPENGL ES 3.0 which should prove for a silky smooth experience.
For those of you who are more adventurous than I am you can download the stock Android 4.3 ROM for the Xiaomi Mi2 and Mi2S along with GAPPS from the MIUI forum here.
Thanks to Fel for the tip!
and what about the m2A it is the same proc that the mi2s(s600 quad) but in dual core!
No the Mi2a is a different phone. Bigger screen, dual-core , 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel camera etc
Crappy half baked Android updates as usual, par for the course. Even Microsoft gets this right.
It’s not an official update
Have Xiaomi made their big announcement today yet ?
I think it was leaked last night instead, turns out it was just confirmation of the launch event in September
Ok fine
I got one of this 4.3 ROMs working. So far so good, I don’t use FM radio anyway and the bugs will get squashed soon enough.
Now if only Xiaomi released their sources…
Is it availible in englsih, and is android market fully working, all the apps?
Check this out.

It’s a cm10.2. It’s almost bugless. Only no FM radio. All other things are working so far for me now.
If some good person could confirm that it is also availible in english and it supports all the google play applications I’m quiete sure this will end up on my phone.
