TCL announce work on 8-core Mediatek phone has begun!


Chinese phone maker and manufacturer of Alcatel phones, TCL has announced that they have started work on an 8-core Mediatek phone!

Chinese phone maker TCL are currently enjoying great success both at home and abroad with their range of TCL and Alcatel branded devices all of which are powered by Mediatek processors.

While most eyes are on IFA 2013 and the Alcatel phone launches, TCL have made quite an exciting announcement here in China about their upcoming flagship phone. Like rivals Zopo, TCL have announced that they will be working closely with Mediatek to produce an 8-core phone using the new MT6592 chipset.

According to reports the phone will be based on the very attractive TCL S950 and will feature quad-core MALI GPU and MT6592 chipset running at between 1.7Ghz and 2Ghz!

Both the 8-core Zopo phone and TCL phone should start to see light of day by the end of the year.

    Quad core mali GPU doesn’t sound very promising… I hoped they would have opted for a gpu with a little more grunt, like the sgx 6 series or 544mp2 at least… I hope the gpu leak is wrong…

      Actually the new Mali GPU are quite good, they’re not talking about those Mali-400 quad cores GPUs you know of.
      Just wait and see, Samsung will use these new Mali GPUs too and I think Samsung certainly wants decent performance.
