Xiaomi has sold 10 million M2 series phones in under a year

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has just posted on his official Weibo that his company has sold 10 million phones in just 11 months!

According to Lei Jun the combined sales of Xiaomi Mi2, Mi2S, and Mi2A has reached and amazing 10 million since the M2 series phones when on sale last October. The number is a huge leap compared to 2012 where the company sold 7.19 million for the full year.

This figure is even more amazing considering the fact that it does not include the number of Hongmi phones sold and they still have to launch the Mi3 later this year!

Any idea when the WCDMA version of the Red Rice phone is out? Xiaomi said end of September but so far nothing has been mentioned.

With 10 million sales, production and distribution costs per unit would have come down significantly. Xiaomi should be reducing the retail prices instead of hiking them up.
One major attractions for buying a Chinese phone is the dual SIM facility.
Sadly most phones from big name manufaturers like Xiaomi and Meizu are ignoring this need in the market place.
