Being technology enthusiasts, we’re sure you have either come across a phone running on the popular aftermarket firmware, CyanogenMod, or have flashed it on one of your own devices. The very firmware has become so popular that they even have a hardware partner now.
As easy and fun it is to use this custom firmware, it is a rather cumbersome and painstaking task to have it running on your device in the first place. However, keeping in mind the rising popularity (which includes the not-so-tech-savvy), the CyanogenMod Team have decided to build a tool to streamline the entire installation process.
Gizchina News of the week
Folks at Geek.com had a chance to play with the tool, and first impressions are rather impressive. Using the installer, it was possible to flash CyanogenMod on a completely stock Nexus 7 in less than 10 minutes! Check out the video below:
The CM Team will be releasing a desktop and an Android app, which you will need to use in tandem to get CyanogenMod working on your device. There is no word, however, from the CM Team as to when this will be available. We hope it doesn’t take them too long!
Faea F2s is coming soon with CM10.1 ROM
That would be nice
Anything that makes this process easier and universal is welcomed.
