Regarded as one of the best upcoming smartphone manufacturers in India, Gionee today went ahead with the launch of the Elife E6, a device which managed to create a stir even before its launch!
While the specifications of this device have been known for a while now, most technology enthusiasts in the country were keen on knowing the retail price of the device. Gionee suggested an MRP of 22,999 INR, which translates to about $372. The figure does seem a little steep for an MTK-based phone, but with time, drops in MRP are expected.
Gizchina News of the week
Full specifications of the GioneeElife E6 include – a 5 inch full HD screen (in true 2013 flagship spirit!), a powerful 1.5GHz quad core processor in the very popular MT6589T along with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with LED flash, front-facing 5 mega-pixel camera, 2,020mAh battery. All this in a sleek 7.7mm thick unibody design!
The phone will be available 15th October onward, and is expected to give other domestic manufacturers like Micromax and Karbonn a run for their money.
This is not at all costly! Its a good price I feel. If micromax can come up with such a device, it’ll surely cost you higher! 🙂
Gionee like quite a few other Chinese Phone Manufacturers- is enamored with size ZERO phones- slim- thin- but this also results in a puny 2000 mAh batteries driving 5inch full HD Screens thru a power hungry Quad Core Processor- resulting in Paucity of critical battery power. If a phone like this to be used as a SMART PHONE- goodby to battery charge by 4 PM..My Galaxy Note 2 with its 3100 mAh. Battery is ready for the charger by 9 PM.. what is the use of a dead sleek, svelte phone with a dead battery ?..wake up GIONEE..then also why pay Rs 22500 for this when u can get a Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung with the best After Sale service in thousands of places all over India -and Best screen ever- for just Rs 4000 more ? Just unilateral price fixation does not sell phones- there is a thing called market reality..
I think its a crap for 22+k INR. At this price it must ve
1.FHD 1080p screen
2. 3000+ battery
3. snapdragon quadcore processor rather than the crap MTK
I think Neo n003 is far far better than this crap.
Neo N003 has similar specs, but priced much much cheaper. It’s unthinkable how anyone would even consider a MediaTek-based phone for 22k INR, knowing that Xiaomi Phone 3 was priced only a little more expensive at 2500 CNY.
I am interested to buy a phone which is priced @ 22K and has a S4 Pro and priced around 22K in India, please do post which is that phone…
I had big failure buying Xiaomi M2A from CN as instead of M2A i got a MTK6577 Fake Mi2..
Not to mention only one SIM card slot!
Products with high import content have to bear high duites.
Personally I have found that such goods can be purchased cheaper in Europe.
hopeless launch at improper price point. this device not worthy above 16k in Indian rupee. why all companies are treating we Indians as fools. we brought down mmx at it’s true level. then these companies are nothing in front of it. because of some insane customers these companies could manage to sell some hundred pieces.
Exactly, these ppl think we Indians are fools. But I do not think a person who is buying a phone of Rs 20,000+ is certainly not a fool and will stay away from this crap. The actual price of it should be Rs 14,000 considering 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM else everything in this phone are crap.
