A Taiwanese market research report claims that Xiaomi phones now rank 5th most popular in China ahead of HTC.
TrendForce say that Chinesephoneconsumers have moved away from low-cost phones from old favourites Lenovo and ZTE and are even avoiding HTC phones in favour of Xiaomi’s low-cost high specification phones.

Xiaomi’s Hongmi is the phone which has really captured the attention of Chinesephone buyers with more than 60% interviewed considering to buy the 799 Yuan quad-corephone.
According to the report Xiaomi phones are now the 5th most used phone in China just behind Samsung, Apple, Nokia and Huawei.
