Oppo to be the first customer of DigitalOptics mems|cam modules


DigitalOptics have announced that Oppo will be the first smartphone OEM to use the companies latest mems|cam technology.

Oppo showed that they are serious about camera technology in smartphones after launching devices such as the Ulike2, R819 and the innovative Oppo N1 with rotating 13 mega-pixel camera.

The mems|cam modules from DigitalOptics will bring speed, power and precision advantages to Oppo’s future Android smartphones when compared to traditional VCM (voice coil motor) camera modules found in current smartphones.

Along with the mems|cam module Oppo will also be using DigitalOptics advanced algorithms for image capture and feature HDR, panorama, multi-focus, and image stabilisation. Chinese phone brand Vivo are also linked with DigitalOptics and have licensed the companies FaceTools product.
