Mediatek have announced that the first lot of 8-core MTK6592 processors will be available from November.
Taiwanese chip maker, Mediatek are about to begin production of 8-core MTK6592 processors for use in the next generation Chinese Android smartphones. The initial first batch will begin to ship to factories in November, but we won’t see Mediatek hit full production of the new processors until early next year.
Gizchina News of the week
As well as being the first 8-core chip to be able to run all 8-cores at the same time, the MT6592 will be able to run at speeds of up to 2Ghz and come with a Mali 450 GPU for improved gaming performance!
In addition to Mediatek’s 8-core chips we can also look forward to another high-end quad-core processor as well as 4G LTE chips.
The big question is which company is going to be first to launch an 8-core Mediatek phone? Our money is on either Zopo or THL, but JiaYu, Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei and others are in the running too.
I hope these 8 cores does not consume the battery very fast.
The MTK6592 uses a ARMv7 Cortex, in theory the A7 works with a low consume of energy, and too i think Mediatek create way to make the CPU powerfull and stable in the energy, but also you need check the use of the CPU in some brands, they probably will works with more powerfull batterys in the next generation.
Man i can’t wait for this phones. Because of their power, i think, after the MTK6592 turns into the market, the MTK6589 and MTK6589T, also the phones with 2GB of ROM will became more cheap. But i particullarly very interested in these MTK6592, thanks for the info, regards from Brazil. Your blog rocks \o
