Mediatek have announced that the first lot of 8-coreMTK6592 processors will be available from November.
Taiwanese chip maker, Mediatek are about to begin production of 8-coreMTK6592 processors for use in the next generation Chinese Android smartphones. The initial first batch will begin to ship to factories in November, but we won’t see Mediatek hit full production of the new processors until early next year.
Gizchina News of the week
As well as being the first8-core chip to be able to run all 8-cores at the same time, the MT6592 will be able to run at speeds of up to 2Ghz and come with a Mali 450 GPU for improved gaming performance!
In addition to Mediatek’s 8-core chips we can also look forward to another high-end quad-core processor as well as 4G LTE chips.
The big question is which company is going to be first to launch an 8-core Mediatek phone? Our money is on either Zopo or THL, but JiaYu, Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei and others are in the running too.
