Newman F9 tablet brings 3G and call capabilities to the big screen


Rather than launching yet another iPad mini clone with 7.9-inch display, the latest Newman F9 tablet is a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768) device with built-in 3G.

Looking not unlike many other Chinese tablets, Pipo’s in particular, the Newman F9 measuring in at 240.5 x 188.5 x 10.5mm at Chinese retail price of 1299 Yuan, roughly $214. Newman, like other tablet makers, have decided to forgo processors from Chinese makers Rockchips or Allwinner in favour of a Mediatek MT8389 quad-core unit with built-in 3G, WIFI, GPS and Bluetooth. The SoC also has the added benefit of bring voice call support to the big screen much like the Cube Talk9.

Newman have also added space for 16GB memory, 1GB RAM, dual-cameras, 32GB SD card, USB, HDMI out and 6000mAh battery. The new tablet will go on sale later this month and should be also available through international resellers.
