While we try to get our eyes to get used to high pixel densities and full HD displays, manufacturers at this moment seem to be in no mood to waste time and are currently working on displays with even greater resolution and pixel density.
The latest news on the block is that Gionee’s next installment in the Elife series, the Elife E7, might come with a 2,560 x 1,600 pixel display. Gionee’s current flagship, the Elife E6, flaunts a 5 inch full HD display with a pixel density of 441ppi. The company had been in the news after it was said that they would be the first customers of the 6.1 inch IGZO displays, manufactured by Japanese operator Sharp.
Apart from the ultra high-res display, the Elife E7 might come with the Snapdragon 800, the very chipset used in the Google Nexus 5. All this combined is bound to give Vivo a tough time, since the manufacturer is known to be working on something along the same lines. However, we suggest you take this bit of news with a pinch of salt, since there’s no official word yet.
Vivo still probably have the better deal thanks to all their custom features.
