Snapdragon 800 Xiaomi Mi3 won’t launch with Android 4.4 after all


Early leaked screenshots from a Snapdragon 800 Xiaomi Mi3 showed the phone running Android 4.4 KitKat, but Xiaomi have gone on the record to state that this won’t be the case!

Xiaomi are still waiting for Qualcomm to speed up production of Snapdragon 800 processors to that they can finally start mass production of a China Unicom, WCDMA, version of their flagship phone. Recent leaked screenshots showed an S800 Mi3 running Android 4.4 leading us to believe that Xiaomi were using the delay to develop a new version of MIUI based on the latest Android release, but Xiaomi say this isn’t the case.

On his official Weibo account Sun Peng from Xiaomi went on the record to stat that Android 4.4 won’t becoming to the Mi3 anytime soon and that the new phone will launch with Android 4.3 as planned.

Anyone who has used MIUI will probably see this as a none issues as Xiaomi’s heavily customised ROM is already featured packed.
