GooPhone are very well known for making fake Apple and Samsung phones, but they aren’t really known for keeping up with technological trends which makes their smartwatch announcement all the more surprising!
Posted here on the GooPhone.cc website, the GooPhone smartwatch will offer a 1.54-inch, 240 x 240 display, 1.2Ghz dual-core MT6577 processor, 512mb RAM, 4GB storage and a 2 mega-pixel camera. Those of you who have followed the Chinese tech industry will recognise the MT6577 SoC as the same model used in the majority of flagship Chinese phones last year and offers built-in 3G, WIFI and GPS.
Pricing is rather high for the GooPhone smartwatch with the base model weighing in at $299 and the top of the range version $349!
Hehe, this is what I call a good move 🙂 kudos Goophone, at least you stop making fake iPhones!
Too bad it’s listed as ‘out of stock’…
I’ve ordered a SmartQ Z from Pandawill, but it’s still undelivered so far; I’d like to compare both of them, in terms of quality and usability: same screen size, better CPU on GooWatch (?) but better Android version on SmartQ…
Andi, you have to prepare some kind of comparisons soon, for every smartwatches already on the market (Samsung, Sony, SmartQ, Goo…aso)
I think the move to Smartwatches is a good one, but those prices are crazy!
