The GalaPad S6 is an amalgam of Samsung’s Galaxy Mega and HTC’s One Max!

Looking back at launches that have taken place in the past few weeks, it seems like Chinese manufacturers are going back to where they started from; manufacturing clones.

Gizchina News of the week

Latest to join this list of ‘Shanzhai’ devices is GalaPad’s S6, a device which essentially combines the 6.3″ (1280 x 720p) form factor of a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the design of an HTC One Max. Other specifications of the device are run-of-the-mill, including a quad-core MT6589 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, an 8 mega-pixel rear and a 2 mega-pixel front camera, and a 3,050mAh battery. As usual, the phablet will have dual SIM support and will run on Android v4.2.2 out of the box.

There’s no word on pricing yet, but device will soon hit shelves in China and that’s when we can expect pricing details to show up.
