If a Chinese phone maker wants to make it internationally then following the Oppo strategy would be what I would suggest, and Oppo’s next plans could involve launching a whole new sub-brand.
Today’s news reports say that Liu Zuohu, Oppo’s deputy general manager, is interested in launching a new Oppo sub-brand and wants to team up with the CyanogenMod. Oppo and CyanogenMod have already worked closely together with the Oppo N1, but a new brand with hardware designed specifically to run the popular third-party ROM is an exciting prospect.
Personnel at Oppo say the new brand will be designed from the ground up and aims to bring the highest level of hard are to the market. The new brand will be ran independently from Oppo with their own hardware, software and even marketing teams!
smooth!!!!
do want
Great idea, if it can be cheaper, than Oppo brand
Great story. If I were Oppo, I would either go premium hardware like the Xplay 3S or super customisable like motorola ala wooden/leather phones etc. Or even both 😀
Hi there did you have a time machine lol four months after your comment & we know OnePlus One will have premium hardware & changeable bamboo, kevlar, denim back covers.
I dont buy into the common belief of time, its just a perception thing. conscious creation or coincidence or a post on one plus more likely. 🙂 denim, yeah i posted that semewhere as well for ltd edition beatle friends. just need an rs7 with bamboo dash to match 🙂
this is a fantastic idea since oppo really lacks at OS optimisation with android
Interesting.
Probably a deal to have OPPO build the phone Cyanogenmod fans want, instead of Cyanogenmod having to work with hardware OPPO fans want.
