TCL announce 8-core Idol X on its way

TCL are looking to enter the 8-core MT6592 phone race early by updating their current flagship Idol X with the new MT6592 chipset.

The TCL Idol X managed to be one of the more successful and sought after Chinese phones this year. Originally available as a 1.2Ghz MT6589 quad-core phone and later a MT6589T model, TCL have now announced a third model will soon be available.

The updated 8-core TCL Idol X+ will go up against other MT6592 phones from ZOPO, Mlais, and Green Orange al of whom have confirmed launches this week!

it’s widely sold on aliex, everything except e-ink covers i saw there.
i bet it will be updated too.

i would prefer if they would make a new idolx a bit thicker, but with bigger battery. for now the idol lasts about 14 hours for me, it’s a bit uncomfortable that sometimes it fails on me before i reach home.

I wish they’d sooner announce an 8-core variant of the Worldwide version of TCL N3 (a.k.a. Alcatel One Touch Hero), as that’s gonna be my phone in a few months – wouldn’t mind 2.0GHz on that for an extra 100$!
