Zopo launches their own online store ahead of 8-core launch!

Zopo have a lot going on at the moment! The company will launch an 8-core phone tomorrow, will make it available internationally and now have even launched their very own webstore!

News that Zopo would launch 5000 of their 8-core phones to international customers spread across the web like wild fire, and now we know exactly how they plan to sell them! Through their very own online store! At the time of writing www.zoposhop.com shows only a splash page promoting tomorrow’s 8-core phone launch but our sources tell us the store will officially go online in just a few hours.

It will be interesting to see which marketing model Zopo will adopt for their international launch, but with the launch just hours away we don’t need to wait long to find out!

ZP998 is basically a ZP990 with an upgraded CPU (MTK6592)
Personally I would like to see an upgraded Umi Cross with MTK6592 and NFC around $300

But the ZP990 is a 6″ phone, and the ZP998 hasn’t even had it’s specifications announced yet. Furthermore, the ZP998 looks a lot different from the ZP990.

Take a look az the new shop, they just copy-pasted the marketing pics of ZP990 for ZP998 😀

If you notice a bit more carefully you will see that this is just a dashboard at the top of the page. This means that even if you select Zopo C2 from the top menu, the dashboard will still be the same showing ZP990. You have to scroll further down to see the requested phone details and as you will see “There are no products to list in this category” appears if you choose ZP998 🙂

Sure, thank you Andreas! The layout of the site was misleading. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it will be a ZP990 with a simply upgraded SoC.

The ZP998 eh? Interesting. It looks like it has a sort of textured back. Can’t wait to see it tomorrow.

http://207.210.192.178/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=6 IF you go to this link, then you will notice that they mention the existence of a european warehouse in Italy and that the user can choose whether to expect shipment from Italy of from China. However i tried to check whether such and option is available but I could not find any. Do we have any details on this from the inside? Or they just copied the Shipping method text from zopomobileshop? 😛

Here I attach a quote from their official shop:

    “Express Shipping (EMS/DHL/UPS/Fedex)

Shipment from Italy to Other Euro Countries: DHL”

    Very confusing :S

lol, you’re right. Who’s gonna buy that? Big companies like mediamarkt have their own suppliers and won’t buy anything from Zopo them selves. Smaller companies just won’t buy in such quantities.
Probably their way of teasing us with the specs before actually opening up sales.

A couple of hours ago the ZP998 was online for $299 with free shipping minimum order quantity 1. FHD 1920×1080 5.5″ IPS screen, 1.7G octa-core, 1GB + 32GB 2G/3G but no LTE. 14MP f2.0 rear-camera with 5MP front-camera with “beautify” function(?). I asked one of the online chat assistants if it had Gorilla Glass and the store promptly went off-line!
I guess it went online early through a glitch?

Specs said it was 2GB ram. Let’s hope it wasn’t a glitch, I was 1 of the first to order when it was online.
A bit strange as it was first online with only 1000 units in stock and you could only order a minimum of 1000. 2 hours later it changed and you could order a single unit. On my paypall account it says that the payment is completed, so if they take my money, they have to send what I order!

I bought one just before the number left in stock hit 0.

Zopo’s website now states the online shop is “Under maintenance” and also that the ZP998 is on pre-order only.
I guess that means it could be mid December or yearend when they start shipping……
