Chinese phone maker Oppo are readying the launch of a $160 Android smartphone to compete with Xiaomi’s feverishly popular Hongmi!

Gizchina News of the week

The Oppo R833T follows the similar design signature as the flagship N1, but with a smaller screen, lower specifications, and no rotating camera, this device will be tackling the entry-level market.
Powered by Mediatek’s latest 1.3Ghz quad-core chipset, the R833T should offer good performance along with dual SIM support, and SD card memory expansion. It is also getting 1GB RAM and will ship with Oppo’s ColorOS with a handy Guest Mode. So where is the catch? Well the display has a resolution of just 480 x 800 (compared the the Hongmi’s 1280 x 720) and this being a Mediatek Oppo it will only officially go on sale in China.

LOL 😀 😀 😀 480×800 seriously? My 3 years old ZTE Blade has a 480×800 screen, and it’s way too low!
