Rumour: Meizu is now an official partner of Mediatek?

Since Meizu started their Android phone range they have stuck to premium products running Samsung processors, but a recent rumour suggests an entry-level Mediatek model will be launched early next year!

The current Meizu MX3 is an octa-core Samsung Exynos powered phone which costs 2500 Yuan for the base model, but from as early as next year Meizu fans might have another 8-core option with a lower price tag. Rumours that Meizu would launch a low-cost smartphone are nothing new, but details that they have become an official partner with Mediatek are!

According to sources Meizu are now authorised to use Mediatek chipsets in their smartphones, this has led many to believe that the rumoured entry-level Meizu will ship with the latest 8-core MT6592 chipset!

Meizu have yet to comment on the rumours. What are your opinions on a possible entry-level Mediatek powered Meizu phone?
