Another Chinese player looking to make it big on the budget smartphone arena, Yepen, have come up with what they think is a cost effective phablet.
The device comes with specifications standard for a sub $150 phone, which includes the 1.3GHz quad-core MT6582 processor like the $82 JiaYu G2F, but with a much larger 5.5-inch IPS screen of unknown resolution. Other specifications include 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, 8 mega-pixel rear shooter and a 2 mega-pixel front and a 2,100mAh battery. The device will, however, have support limited to China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA networks. Like many other devices coming from China, this Yepen phone will run on the Aliyun OS.
Gizchina News of the week
The phone is expected to be available soon, with a price tag of 888 Yuan ($145)
