The flagship Amoi A900W won’t have an 8-core processor

Amoi are one of the few Chinese phone brands that we really have trouble understanding. They are a large brand with plenty of cash, but seem complacent and uninspiring which may explain some decisions surrounding their flagship Amoi A900W.

Let’s start with the good. From the render (above) the Amoi A900W is the best looking Amoi smartphone we have ever seen, we have also learned that it will feature support for WCDMA 3G networks and have a display of up to 5.5-inch with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Strangely Amoi won’t be using the latest 8-core MT6592 processor, or even the new quad-core MT6588 but instead the older 1.5Ghz MT6589T chipset. The move to use the older processor is odd as we have already seen the newer Mediatek chips are more powerful and better on battery life, so it will be interesting to see why Amoi have chosen this path.

Are you excited about the next Amoi phone?
