The LG G Flex, previously limited to Korea, is set to begin its global release, starting December 8th when it will be released in Singapore and then continuing onto Hong Kong December 13th. The G Flex, in case you forgot, was LG’s showcase for its new flex technology and includes a curved profile and an extremely interesting self-healing back.
The stylish handset is then expected to continue its global tour by being released in key Asian markets, which will be followed by Europe and then the United States.
Besides the curved display and profile and the self-healing back, the innards of the G Flex also don’t disappoint. It includes the quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.6Ghz, 2GB of RAM, and a 6-inch 720pdisplay.
Gizchina News of the week
Meanwhile, the LG G Flex 2 is already rumored to be on its way and is expected to be announced in the second half of next year according to Korean media via Android Authority. Rumor has it that will be able to bend up to 90 degrees but that, like the existence of the phone itself, is still speculation.
While the hardware in the LG G Flex is impressive, it isn’t as impressive as some of the recently released and just announced phones it will likely share a price point with. Will the LG G Flex be able to compete with them due to its curved display and self healing back? Only time will tell.
