Taiwan manufacturer ASUS has let slip that they plan to announce a 4.3-inch addition to its Padfone line, this according to a listing in the Global Certification Forum, a global independent certification program for mobile phones. Not much is known about the upcoming device although an earlier leak revealed a possible quad-core Snapdragon 400, Android 4.3 phone with a 960×540 4.3-inch (10.9cm) screen that can now likely be attributed to the Padfone Mini.
Engadget China has reportedly received an invitation to attend the Padfone Mini’s unveiling event, apparently set to take place this coming Wednesday, December 11th in Taipei. Padfone The Global Certification Forum listing also revealed that the Padfone Mini is unlikely to support 4G speeds, as 3G networks were the most advanced networks listed.
The Snapdragon 400 normally runs anywhere between 1.2Ghz and 1.7Ghz, depending on the model. While the specific Snapdragon 400 model and the amount of RAM in the phone has yet to be revealed, one has to assume with the specs that have been released, the ASUS Padfone Mini will be aimed at budget consumers.
