IMHO, people (and me) spend their money on Hongmi considering the MIUI OS , not only the phone specs itself

I have to disagree, I couldn’t care less about the Custom skin, all I want is the best bang for my buck. And there are countless others who want the same. Huawei may have a serious contender here especially if its screen is OGS laminated.

Should be better than the Hongmi build wise. A colleague came over the other day to show off one that she bought online. Asked me to take a look at it. Looked cheap and I told her that the buttons looked like it won’t last long. Sure enough a couple of days later she came back to ask me if I can do anything to get the on/off button to work. I told her just to ship it back and ask for a replacement as the button was stuck.

Are you sure it was not a fake? I got tricked and got a fake one, it is not easy to find it is a fake one, but back cover feels made in a cheap thin plastic, and button are feel also cheaper.

Yep. Bought a Xiaomi M1 before so I’m familiar with them. Also had problems with it. Still in use as a secondary phone by my wife but freezes and reboots every once in a while. I recommended to my colleague to wait for the Honor 3C instead as she was thinking of buying it from another reseller. The Huawei unit should have a better build quality.
