5″ Zopo ZP980 in line to get 8 core update!

One of Zopo’s most popular phones of 2013 is set to receive an 8 core MT6592 update!

Those disappointed by the large screen size on the ZP998, which happens to be Zopo’s first 8 core phone can now rejoice as the company’s first full HDphone aka the ZP980 is all set to have an 8 core processor under its hood. The ZP980 initially released a few months back when it was pitted against the likes of UMi X2 and iOcean X7, which comprised of the first crop of Mediatek-powered full HD phones from China.

Not much is known about this upcoming 8 core ZP980, not even the model number. However, we can expect the phone to feature the same 1080p screen, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM and possible even the same 13 mega-pixel shooter it initially came with. What price tag would make you say ‘shut up and take my money’ for this one? I feel anything around $250 and I’d be left wanting!

since I bought the zp980+ for $350 3 months ago I really wish this won’t affect future system updates, I really hope I will get at least 4.4…

Would be nice to have a 8core ZP980 ! Could be named ZP988. I hope it will feature the 900mhz WCDMA for Europe (France, Belgium, Spain at least) like it’s supposed to be with the ZP998

I cant rejoice for that news because i currently own the zp980 aka C2 platinum and i cant buy a new phone for processor only. I hoped it would have been a larger battery(because i’m left wanting with the current 2000 mah…let alone a processor that will drain it even faster) and i love the off screen gesture features of the zp998. Zopo should really just improve on the 5″ flagship camera+ flash!(it currently has terrible flash when compared to other phones), battery, screen and cpu….even if the phone measure 10mm thick and cost 300+…..oh and keep the 850mhz bands!!!

I like this phone disain very much.. but need LTE conection and better baterry like Lenovo P780 4000mah 🙂
