Xiaomi have created a limited edition of 500 Xiaomi routers which ship in a fancy wooden case and require user assembly, watch the video here.

Xiaomi have always been a company looking to build on new market, and their recent marketing plans are targeting more technically minded device users with self assembly options.

As we can see in the below video, Xiaomi have produced a limited edition number of 500 routers with each part clearly labelled and individually packed so hobbiests can enjoy assembling their new gadget for themselves.

The self assembly hobby strategy is likely going be be used more often in future Xiaomi products. We have already seen concepts of a possible modular Xiaomi phone which could go in to production, could we also see similar TV and Android box models?
