Android v4.4 update for Wickedleak Wammy Passion Z+ seeds 14th Jan onward


Indian smartphone and tablet vendor Wickedleak have announced an update to Android v4.4 KitKat for the Wammy Passion Z+ smartphone.

According to Wickedleak, all orders of the Wammy Passion Z+ smartphones made today (27th Dec) onward will ship with the v4.4 KitKat update out of the box. For existing users of the smartphone, the update will be available 14th January onward. It is not clear if Wickedleak will be providing the update over the air or only via download. The update promises to bring performance and stability enhancements to the device, along with a few added features and better user experience.

The Wammy Passion Z+ is an MT6589T powered smartphone which goes for ₹15,990 ($259) in India.

    I wouldn’t expect full blown 4.4 support till July at the earliest if ever for some phones. Given how quickly the Chinese market evolves with new models and older models (some less than a year old) get limited support, you might not see it till next year’s flagships are released.
