Zopo’s previous flagship phone, the Zopo ZP980, has been spotted in an updatedoctacore guise dubbed the Zopo ZP980+.
It comes as no surprise that Zopo are updating it’s range of smartphones to include octacore processors, they did the same with the switch from single to dual-core and dual to quad, what is a surprise though is that the leak came from an online retailer rather than Zopo themselves.
So what updates does the new Zopo ZP980+ offer over the original quad-core version? Well first of all the processor has been updated to the latest 1.7Ghz MT6592 chipset from Mediatek, an octacoreprocessor which is capable of running all 8 cores at once. The MT6592 also boasts an improved Mali-450 GPU to further enhance performance!
Gizchina News of the week
Another update is the rear camera, the previous Zopo ZP980 had a 13 mega-pixel sensor where as the new ZP980+ has a 14 mega-pixel rear sensor, possibly the same as found on the flagship Zopo ZP998.
The rest of the hardware appears to remain unchanged and includes a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 1GB RAM (2GB coming later), dual-SIM support, micro SD, Bluetooth, WIFI and GPS. Unfortunately there seems to be no NFC.
Pricing for the octacore Zopo ZP980+ is just $269.99. We’ll keep you posted on further Zopo developments.

Look in the post about the release of the ZP998 and you will see. They tricked 7000 customers into “lending” them money for the production of the ZP998. A release quickly and suprisingly turned into a pre release with 30 days to delivery. After 30 days they said the phone would be delivered in a couple of days but shortly after that they changed the specifications of the phone we bought from 32 Gb ROM to 16 Gb ROM. They offered people a 16 Gb TF instead – just because they were so generous. It was impossible to communicate with them during this entire process, they did not respond to emails, on their official forum or on Skype. On top of this they offered us “free delivery” when we bought the phone, but when you were going to pay for your order the coupon did not work. one week or so ago they contacted everyone and told them to cancel their orders and make a new order. The phones were supposed to bew delivered on the 6th of january this time. They now take the same price that we payed including shipping for just the phone. They have also added a “gift package” – again because they are so extremely generous. This gift package is not as good as the initial gift package though, and this time the pre ordering customers won’t get a TF, just the lowered 16 GB ROM. Zopo are clowns, thieves, scammers, amateurs and big bastards! If they had production problems they could have communicated this from the beginning and not kept our money for almost one and a half months. Thats why I call them scammers. Now I’ve ordered a Vivo Xplay 3S instead and I’m happy to never have to deal with Zopo again.
