Xiaomi might have gotten a head start on the low-end, high-quality Android market, but competitors like Hisense and it’s VIDAAbox are catching up fast.
The HisenseVIDAAbox is a small black plastic pebble of a device which run’s Hisense own VIDAA OS based on Android. The round pod connects to your standard TV via HDMI and converts it to a smart Android TV, with connection to the internet via WIFI.
The guts of the device include a dual-core AML8726 processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, Bluetooth 4.0 and WIFI and can be controlled from the comfort of you sofa via a remote or Android tablet/phone app.
Like the Xiaomi box, the HisenseVIDAAbox costs only 299 Yuan, but offers a much more open experience and easy allows uses to download 3rd party apps, something which is much more difficult especially on the 2nd generation Xiaomi box.
Neat but call me when firmware translated into english.
