Huawei’s Honor 3C has been selling like freshly steamed dumplings here in China, but the flagship2GBRAM version of the phone is expected to be even more popular at launch!
Huawei decided to prove that it too can do low-cost with great specs and attacked rivals Xiaomi with the launch of the HuaweiHonor 3C and 3X. Currently only the Honor 3C with 1GB RAM is available and has become so popular that many vendors are marking up prices to cash in on demand!
Gizchina News of the week
On the 24th of this month Huawei will launch the flagship version of the Honor 3C which offers the same 1.3Ghz MT6582 quad-core processor, 13 mega-pixel 2.0 rear camera, 5-inch display and 2300mAh battery as the current model but with 2GBRAM rather than the standard 1GB.
Pricing on China for the unlocked dual-SIM HuaweiHonor 3C2GB with WCDMA support will be 998Yuan, but with demands so high don’t be surprised for prices to reach 1500 Yuan!
I look with the resellers and they mention this phone only have 3G: WCDMA 2100MHz are you kindig us -_- I think the america continent we are condemned to buy expensive phones with the popular brands OMG this is really sad, i hope one day the chinese brands think more in us with their low-cost products that work here for expend or money , To dream doesn’t cost anything. I had my expectations for this phone but the same disappointing history again another nice chinese phone that don’t work in my country.
These phones are designed primarily for the Chinese market, it just so happens that some European and other countries are lucky enough to have support for them. More companies are releasing phone for the US market but don’t expect anything super low-cost anytime soon.
thanks andy, finally someone giving us a clear and honest answer. i hope the chinese brands don’t forget the US market in the future releases.
ANdy can you tell me any place where i can get WCDMA 1GB RAM version? my friend is on vacations in china and coming back on 25 jan,2014, so i have to tell him possible places where available
Let me explain .. All the Chinese vendors would love to expand to the international markets..however, due to licesing, patents, FCC, BQB, Wifi, CTIA, GMS .. all that crap.. it adds on a lot off costs to the phone, and it is really really time consuming, and hence, they build it for countries that doesn’t have so high requirements …. that’s the reason why these phones won’t get there at these low costs!!
+ These phones are all gimmicks anyways .. half of these phones are not available, if they are, they are marked up .. this is nothing more than a marketing strategy!
No . I think it has 8 mp but in the article’s text it says 13. That’s probably wrong since the images says 8 mp too.
It could be correct indeed. The sensor can be 8MP but then through software postprocessing (interpolation/extrapolation) you can ‘pull’ the pixel up to that size. Probably it’s not a mistake..but I’m not 100% sure 😉
Andi,
if it’s convenient I’d like to have an article covering Chinese new smartphones supporting 4G LTE. Enjoying your site for continuous updates upon the dynamics of Chinese native brands.
