TokyoFlash are the makers of some of the more distinctive watches on the market and their latest Kisai Console Wood is certainly no different.
Being use to the latest technology we are more accustom to receiving our gadgets with metal or plastic cases. So we were a little surprised by the all wood body of the TokyoFlash Kisai Console Wood when it arrived at our offices.
Everything part of the main watch body to the individual wrist links are manufactured from wood, not a phoney wood-look plastic but actual real, all natural wood from real all natural trees! The wood construction creates a very distinctive look, especially in contrast to the funky LED watch face, and also makes the watch quite light-weight and comfortable to wear.
TokyoFlash are no strangers to reinventing the way people read the time, so instead of the more conventional analogue hands or digital numbers of regular watches you are treated to a cool LED design.
Gizchina News of the week
The LEDs are housed in the wooden body beneath a mineral crystal lens and powered by a built-in battery which can be charged via USB. Once charged the battery is good for a month of use on a single charge.
At first the unusual layout seems confusing, but all it took was a few minutes with the manual to figure things out. Basically the numbered areas at the top refer to the hour, the area on the left are minutes 1-4 and the bottom are minutes in groups of 5.
The contrast between the wooden body, stainless steel fixtures and bright LED display really give the Kisai Wood Console a retro futuristic look. It looks like the type of watch you would expect to have seen in a Sci-fi movie of the 70’s! A look we personally love, but is not appreciated by everyone.
Like many of TokyoFlash’s unique watches, the Kisai Console Wood comes in alternative colour options for both the wooden body and even the colour of the LED lights.
If you’re looking for a unique and beautifully crafted watch then take at look at the TokyoFlash Kisai Console which is on sale now for $149.00

Nice design but wont be strong as the wood can break easily as compared to metal or even plastic
Is it waterproof? Also I really hate this kind of watchfaces, guess it’s not for me…
It’s water resistant
