Rumour: Lenovo to manufacture the Nexus 6?

After the shock news that Lenovo have bought Motorola from Google, new rumours suggest that it could be Lenovo, not LG, who will produce the Nexus 6!

Lenovo managed to bag themselves a bargain when they bought Motorola from Google this week, but they might have also bought themselves their way in to the Nexus family and are now rumoured to be the manufacturers of the next Nexus device, and ultimately the last Nexus to ship if other rumours are accurate.

Gizchina News of the week

Russian mobile blogger Eldar Murtazin is the source of these rumours, and should be given some credibility as his previous predictions have already come true. Eldar goes on to say that the Lenovo Nexus device will be manufactured at a huge volume and will be primarily focussed on the U.S market.

For Lenovo to produce a Nexus device, be it the Nexus 6 or a Nexus tablet, would be a huge boost for a brand who have struggled to make traction with core Android fans despite some quite interesting products over the past 12 months.

I hope it’s not a phablet. But it probably will be, lost interest to nexus line after nexus 5 anyway. Waaaay too big phone for anything practical…

It’s good if Google drops the nexus line though, we already have way too many phablets… It’s a pity cause nexus *phones* were the best phones in the market. This tablets in phones trend kills everything good…

If you like specs but don’t like large phones check out the Xperia Z1 compact. If cutting edge isn’t a big deal get a Xiaomi 2s. The 2s is still more than fast enough. There was also a 4.3-4.7 inch high specced japanese phone to be on the market soon. I can’t recall it off the top of my head though.

Are you thinking of the new Sharp Aquos? It looks nice, but the default ui looks kind of weird… like MiUi.

6 inches to big??? I find the 5 inch phones to be tiny and unusable. 7 inch phones are great. I can’t wait until they are widely available.
