What about Jiayu? I think the Jiayu G4 Advanced brings a lot to the table. Extremely good battery. GPS is a small issue of course but still for $185 a good buy I think.

I hope it gets updated to new MTK or Qualcomm chipset to fix its GPS problems (which I personally don’t find that small, it’s actually a big issue). Other than that it’s really good, I agree.

      • February 5, 2014

It is rumoured to get an octacore MTK update

No WCDMA 900Mhz. Same thing with UMI and a bunch of other brands

Why not show the iOcean X7S? The price is a little bit higher but then you have got 2GB Memory, 1080P display and an 8-core.

    Huawei 3c ,xiaomi red rice,thl t5s,lenovo s650,Doogee 2014,lenovo a889 etc…

    • February 5, 2014

I wanted to post phones that can be easily bought internationall this is why the Huawei 3C isnt on the list yet. Xiaomi Hongmi has been written about many times already, the last Doogee we reviewed was terrible, Lenovo could be a good, THL T5 seems over priced to be honest.

The Z5s mini is a silly phone, at least name wise.

Spec wise it truly is the small brother of Z5s but as far as its actual footprint goes it is barely any smaller and it manages to cram a smaller screen and quite less hardware in almost the same frame.

It’s a bit silly to call mini a phone that will probably have hard time fitting in certain pockets, more so considering that it is not a “mini” of anything (given that the “other phone” is almost as “small”). ZTE dropped the ball here…

A list of “best cheap smartphones” and not even mentioning the (Star) HD5000? common…

With MT6582, 5″ at 1280×800, 8GB ROM, 1GB RAM, 2500mAh Battery, OTG, backlight Softbuttons and a price tag of only 140 USD (for example at geekbuying) it easily beats any quad core smartphone in your list when it comes to price/value…

You should really consider putting it on the list and a review would be nice, too!
