While leaking the specifications of the entry-level UMi x1 Pro, our source at UMi also confirmed the details of the flagship, octacoreUMi X3.
Specifications for the UMi X3 have been in flux ever since it was first leaked all those months ago, but we finally have the official hardware which will go in to (the first batch at least) the new flagship UMi smartphone.
So what has changed? Well the rear camera on the phone is now a more pedestrian 13 mega-pixel unit with F2.2 aperture, it won’t ship with 4G LTE (not to start with at least), the octacoreprocessor is clocked at 1.7Ghz and it appears Android 4.2 will come as standard rather than Android 4.3!
Gizchina News of the week
The rest of the phone remains unchanged meaning a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 2GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel front camera and rather large 3150mAh battery. We have also discovered a few new things about the UMi X3 such as the display will feature a fingerprint and smear resistant coating, the internal memory will have 120mb/s read speed, LDS antenna, a smart home button/notification light (similar to the Meizu MX3), USB OTB and dual microphones. From the official specifications we can also see the first batch will geet 16GB of internal memory, 32-64GB will come at a later date.

The UMi X3 will also be released mid March however we do not know the official retail price yet. We do know that it will only come in white to start with the possibility of additional colour options in the future.
What a big desapointment …!!! i planned to buy it bcz of its differences with all the other phones actually available, the 3g ram, the 2.0ghz cpu speed, the 4g Lte capabilities …
If all these attractive specs are finally not included.. why UMi waited so long to realise this so ordianary phone ?
Such specs are available everywhere since dec 2013 ….
Exactly Claude. I have been holding back and hoping to buy the Umi X3. Quite a disappointment to me.
Gosh!!!
Maybe they plan to do an X3s shortly after as marketing strategy. And as to why the companies all migrating from the traditional HSDPA network bands is beyond me…
that will be the umi rice x3 but for 250 dollars you cannot get a better phone the rice is going to be 350 i believe but its a better phone compared to the lower end x3 models which is to be expected with most good phones like the nexus iphones galaxy s u know what i mean but yeah im disappointed that the rice isnt out yet because that phone is a beast and imo best phone for its price hands down 4gb ram would be ideal for running ubuntu which is what i plan to do with the x3 but otherwise 2gb ram is still more than enough to run ubuntu efficiently
