Mediatek could unveil their 64-BIT LTE SoC’s at MWC!


With on going pressure from Qualcomm and their Snapdragon 410 LTE processor, Mediatek are rumoured to be bringing their own 64-BIT LTE chipset to MWC.

According to reports from Taiwan, Mediatek will unveil the Mediatek mid-range MT6732 and high-end MT6752 chipsets at MWC. Full details are unconfirmed but it is thought that both processors will have built-in 4G LTE support and built on ARM Cortex A53 architecture.

Sources tell us the MT6732 is a quad-core chipset running at up to 1.5Ghz. The mid-range processor will be able to support up to 13 mega-pixel cameras, and 1080p video. The higher spec MT6752 will be an octacore setup running at up to 1.7Ghz with support for 16 mega-pixel camera units.

Launch dates for both chips have also been hinted with the MT6732 heading to market around the 3rd quarter of 2014 and the MT6752 after it in the final quarter of the year.

    in the picture the 64 bit chips are labeled as 6732 and 6752, but throughout the article it is inconsistent, either referring to them as 6532 and 6572. typographical errors?
