We have the fantastic little JiaYu G2F at the GizChina offices! Take a look at the first ever hands on with this amazing low-cost dual simsmartphone from China.
The JiaYu G2F was announced earlier this year as s TD-SCDMA only 3G phone for China Mobile customers, but JiaYu have promised a WCDMA version of the phone will be available soon for international customers.
The G2F is priced at just 499 Yuan in China, which is just under $80. Specifications include a quad-core 1.3Ghz MT6582 chipset, 1GB RAM, good for around 17,000 points on Antutu, 4GB internal memory, 4.3inch IPS 1280 x 720 display, 2 mega-pixel front camera and 8 mega-pixel rear.
The little G2F also support dual SIM, micro SD cards of up to 64GB and packs an impressive (for it’s size) 2200mAh battery.
Video: JiaYu G2F Unboxing and hands on
As you can see in the video, the JiaYu G2F closely resembles the Xiaomi Mi2 in design, and I have to say the build quality is easily on par! Amazing considering the impressive price JiaYu have managed to create the F2F for!
Not only is the design and build way above average for a phone at this price, but the display is a pleasant surprise too! Offering great viewing angles and impressive touch response.
Gizchina News of the week
We also enjoy the custom ROM which JiaYu have installed on the JiaYu F1. Based on Android version Android 4.2.2, YunOs is a popular MIUI inspired 3rd party ROM which is making its way on to a number of Chinese smartphones recently. YunOS is primarily targeted at Chinese consumers with some great cloud based features, but also has English too making it perfectly usable elsewhere.

JiaYu G2F first impressions
It is extremely hard not to like the JiaYu G2F. It is a plucky little phone with design, specification and attention to detail which we have never seen at a price like this before. The design is perfect for most users, hardware is well though out and offers great performance, the battery is much larger than phones double it’s price and specification (iNew V3 for example) and YunOs is a very pleasant surprise!
We know that once the Jiayu G2F goes on sale internationally prices will be nearer $90-100 ,but even then it would be well worth getting! It really does feel like a great little phone which will easily last!
