OnePlus updated their Facebook cover today with text blurred just enough for fans to start guessing what they are up to.
The red Facebook cover is mostly obscured to prevent us clearly reading the details. The 6th March is clear though and the column across from it looks to say ‘CPU’. Fans have been quick to point out that the rest of the list appears to be items from a phone specification with dates when the news will be released.
Gizchina News of the week
If we are reading through the blur this would mean we could finally learn what CPU Oneplus have settled for for their OnePlus Oneflagship.
OnePlus fans are already trying to make out the rest of the details, but to us is appears the CPU will be announced on 6th March, the Battery will follow, then the Screen, Camera and finally the last column which we can’t make out.
We will see if we are right come this Thursday, in the meantime which processor do you think OnePlus have decided on?

Hi Yash, just had an off topic thought. The Gionee elife E7 is supposed to have 2.5GHz snapdragon 800, isn’t this just the 801? Would explain why its not out yet, isn’t the launch date around the same time as the S5 which uses the same cpu?
Hi, you’re right about the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 (8974AC) being the 801. Now that many other (major) brands have unveiled devices on the same (and the AC version getting an all new 801 name), it seems likely that the likes of Gionee will start making available devices based on the same. It unfortunately seems like its routine for Chinese manufacturers to release devices months before they’re actually available.
No! The whole Snapdragon 800 has been renamed to 801. I think these are pin-compatible or whatever. Even the Xperia Z2 has the Snapdragon 801, but it uses the 8974AB version! 🙂
The 801 has faster Krait processor as well as GPU, which also boosts camera performance! 🙂
Just checked and yikes, I’m surprised! Knew about improvements on the 801, didn’t know that even the AB version is now 801. Thanks!
Haha. yes, I voted the same way! They’ll have a Snapdragon 800 or 801, but I WANT a 805!
I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if they pulled a rabbit out of a hat and used the Nvidia K1 dual-processor Denver (64-bit) chip. This could yield the fastest phone out there with great battery performance. With Nvidia desperately needing a win, they could get some great pricing, which could be how they’re going to make the $400 price point.
So, I guess I take it back, I don’t have any idea what they’ll use!
