It’s not secret that Huawei are working on their own octacore chipset to slip in to their next flagship phone. Here are a few leaked details of the SoC.

While picking through the grape vine we have heard talk that the next Huawei phone, though to be the Huawei Ascend D3, will get a 2K display and octacore processor. The details were purely rumour up until news of Huawei’s new Kirin 920 chipset leaked.

Gizchina News of the week

According to reports, the self developed Kirin 920 chipset is a 28nm chip with an octacore layout. 4 of those cores are Cortex A7 while the remainder are Cortex A15. The chip also packs a built-inn Mali 628MP4 GPU, supports dual-channel DDR3 800mHz RAM. Specifications also give details of the next flagship Huawei hardware too, as the Kirin 920 handles WQXGA 2560 x 1440 displays and camera sensor of up to 32 mega-pixels! 4G LTE is also in there too!

Huawei may well have a truly exciting flagship phone in the works, but we will have to wait until September to find out!
