OnePlus One battery size revealed

In their on going schedule of teasers, OnePlus today announced the size of the battery which the OnePlus One will have on tap.

As announced early this week, and after dropping the bombshell that the OnePlus One would sport a Snapdragon 800 CPU, the OnePlus team today have revealed more details of the phone. In an official email, and post on their social media channels, OnePlus revealed the size of the battery.

The specs are a 3100mAh non removable battery for the Snapdragon 800, LTE phone, plus a new ‘Mystery Technology’ which will help to keep the battery charged. A 3100mAh battery is only slightly smaller than the cell in the Xiaomi Mi3 which similar spec (if the OnePlus ends up having a 1080 display as we believe it will).

This battery info along with the processor confirmation gives is a good idea of what OnePlus have cooking, It is all solid kit, but it hardly jumps out and shouts ‘wow’ in our faces. What do you make of the latest revelation? Are you all hot for the OnePlus One, or have you begun to simmer down?

  wow, i knew there’s 5000mah in 5inch phone
  is 4000mah really needed? yeah of course it will be better but is 3100mah not enough?
  i really hope next gen of smartphone improve about power efficiency only 1000mah for 5inch QHD display for 2 days active use

    I guess we will see how power efficient will it actually be, but unless it manages to last a whole day with wifi on, 2-3 hours of fullhd mkv video, some gaming and all this while outdoors in the sun with visible everything… then it isn´t really groundbreaking as they hyped it…

4000mah on a 5″ screen is overkill if your trying to keep the phone compact and price down. With that much battery its on par with note series plus whatever power efficient new tech they teased…

All of your hopes are too high from a mobile company. Honestly Oppo was perfectly fine with the Find 5. I had no issues. The only issue was the Software Version/Development. I ended up leaving ColorOS before it was even called color OS for Omni Rom. I don’t care what Oppo has to offer like SD Card, Removeable battery, and so on in the Find 7 because the Software Version/Development sucks from the OEM. People will start complaining about the phone software more than the type of hardware it has.
I like the One Plus and it is looking more attractive as they continue to release specs every 2-3 days because knowing it will carry Cyanogen, SD800, and a 3100mAh makes me know that this phone will last like it is supposed too. The entire day on medium usage. My Find 5 lasts me 14hrs a day with only 30% by the time I come home, and again on Omni.
The original OEM software matters. What I’ll be looking for now in the One Plus is the Camera Hardware, and that will determine if I will get 1+ or the Sony Z2. Oppo has no hopes of being my future phone, but I won’t judge to early as they haven’t released more information about it until this week? Or next?

yep Andi nothing wowy. They keep spoonfeeding their potential customers like babies. Flesh news! A teaser inside a teaser. Mystery technology. I thought oppo was annoying! I take it back. Oneplus morons take the biscuit hahah Nothing interesting whatsoever has been shown or mentioned so far.

Two selling points for me are Romavable battery and microSD, often both are missing from many high end phones. I’m a heavy user and always carry a 2nd battery in my bag, as finding an outlet to charge isnt always possible when on the go..

For me it’s going to come down to the design and optimization. The specs themselves aren’t all that impressive, but certainly not bad either.

Typical battery life on a non chinese phone is 2 years, less for a heavy user, so when the battery performance drops is the phone a dead weight or is it get out the soldering iron time
