The JiaYu F1 will soon be launched in WCDMA guise for international customers to enjoy. We unbox and have our first hands on with the $50 smartphone ahead of launch.
It’s easy to get excited about the latest greatest phones with high-resolution displays and powerful processors, but let’s not forget that those super phones only make up a small part of the market. Most phone users look at low to mid range devices, an area where it is being constantly proven that low-cost no longer means low-quality!
The JiaYu F1 is a 299 Yuan Android smartphone from Chinese phone maker JiaYu. The device packs a 4-inch display, dual-core 1.3Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 5 mega-pixel camera, dual sim support, 3G and a large 2400mAh battery! Even if the F1 goes on sale for more for international customers (which is looking likely) the JiaYu F1 is still going to be one bargain!
Would be nice though if they included 1GB RAM, wvga on 4 inch is OK to me due to the pricetag, but 512MB RAM nowadays? Doesn’t cut it, for starters because only Android KitKat / 4.4 runs smoothly on 512MB RAM while Jelly Bean doesn’t yet. I guess they left 1GB RAM out because otherwise the G2F would be kinda obselete from the beginning 😉
