The world’s thinnest Android smartphone, aka the Gionee Elife S5.5 will go on sale in China from 18th March.
Gionee’s continue to charge forth for 2013. First was the launch of the Gionee Elife E7 with Snapdragon 800 processor, 5.5-inch 1080 display and 16 mega-pixel camera, then it was the 5.55mm thin Elife S5.5.

The Gionee Elife S5.5 is currently the official worlds thinnest smartphone, and will officiailly go on sale from 18th March here in China. Gionee have also promised launches in 40 other countries, but as it stands India is the only other market with a release date announced.
Costing 2299 Yuan ($374) the Gionee Elife S5.5 has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 2300mAh battery, octacore MT6592 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, 5 mega-pixel wide angle front camera and 13 mega-pixel Sony rear. As the phone has the latest Mediatek 8-core under the hood, the Elife S5.5 will support TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM frequencies.
Which will they release first? TD-SDCMA or WCDMA?

Which SoC’s are compatible with both TD-SDCMA and WCDMA? Any quadcore SoC’s too? And what about future SoC’s? Thanks!
