Lenovo have quickly shifted focus and are not really climbing up the ranks of smartphone manufacturers. The next companies they hope to tackle are Huawei and Xiaomi with this low-cost quad-core model.
The Lenovo S898T+ (please do something about these names Lenovo!), was spotted on the Tenaa site last night where it was discovered the slim, gold bodied phone will get an octacore processor, 2GBRAM and 13 mega-pixel main camera. Those specs are on par with the current Huawei 3X which has proven to be very popular here in China.
Gizchina News of the week
A quad-core chipset similar to the 3X has been used but is the slightly lower spec version named the MT6592M. Details of this chip are not known but it is likely 720p only version of the regular MT6592, possibly with a slower GPU.
Other details of the Lenovo S898T+ include a 5 mega-pixel front camera, 7.9mm body and Android 4.2.2 OS. Currently only the TD-SCDMA version has been spotted but a WCDMA version can’t be too far behind.
